Motivational Messages

In late September I was browsing the racks for a pair of jeans. As I checked through the sizes, I came across some tags that simply said, “You are beautiful.” I smiled and continued browsing. In spite of the fact that I walked away without finding a pair I wanted to invest in, that message brightened my day. It reminded me that people in my life, the ones I care about, truly do find me beautiful. A few days later I was traveling to Orlando for a work trip, and in the bathroom stall, instead of the usual grafitti, this is what I saw:
This time I grabbed the pic so I could share it. Remember, it applies to you as well.

**For the month of November each year, I try to focus on something I’m thankful for each day. It is the month that holds Thanksgiving where I live, after all. Focusing on the positive and remembering the little things that make life great is something I should do more often. I love cities, and I’m particularly fascinated by the murals that brighten the buildings. Here are some from my travels.

Montreal

Buffalo, NY

North Adams, Massachusetts

Lisbon

Book Clubs and Bible Studies

I’ve been missing regular meetings with friends sharing thoughts on books and Bible passages, but I’m traveling enough that joining a group isn’t really practical. After searching online I came across sites such as the Women’s Bible Cafe. It’s perfect for me!

Right now we are studying Elijah, and beginning late November we are going to discuss the book The Women of Christmas: Experience the Season Afresh with Elizabeth, Mary, and Anna by Liz Curtis Higgs.

The group meets something like 15 times a week, accounting for different time zones and schedules. If you can’t make your regular time, you just join another group. Or skip a week. All communication is done via typing so shaky networks are not a problem (as I discovered yesterday while traveling).

I’m thankful to share thoughts and opinions on books and studies in a way that works with my current life situation.

Travels

Day 30/30 –  On this final day of the month of November, I am reminiscing and am thankful for our travels. This year Chris and I said we wanted to travel to 25 places in celebration of our 25th wedding anniversary. This left us with lots of happy memories I’m so thankful for. I will do a full writeup at some point on my other site, but for now here are some of my favorite memories:

  • For November (the month in which we celebrate Thanksgiving in the US), I’m trying to blog about something for which I’m thankful for each day of the month.
